WELCOME TO OUR TRAINING SERIES ON POLITICAL SUCCESS!
In politics – as in life – success is determined by a few guiding principles. Follow them and succeed. Ignore them and you become a mere statistic. As the title of the series suggests, these timeless principles are true whether you are a candidate for Mayor or Congress – or the White House for that matter.
Who is our audience for this training series? This series is for hard-working Americans (of every political persuasion) who love this country and want to make a difference in the political process, but don’t live and breathe politics.
What are we trying to accomplish? The goal of this training series is to give you a birds-eye perspective of seven principles that lead to success in your political endeavors – whether they be political campaigns, issue advocacy initiatives or boots-on-the ground grassroots projects.
This is not a political science journal. Rather, it’s a birds-eye view of the seven principles at play in political campaigns. Political fads come and go, but these success principles are timeless. We hope to give the reader a very practical perspective on these principles and provide food for thought on your journey to crack the political code on Election Day.
The typical political consultant seeks to complicate and obfuscate these principles so he/she can justify their existence and exorbitant fees. We want to cut through the hype and sophistication and give you an understandable look at the seven principles that guide political success.
How can YOU benefit from this series? If you read this book and work to apply the seven principles, you’ll become a better political practitioner. As you perfect the principles, you’ll start enjoying political success. As you go through the series, let’s have a conversation about these principles.
The journey to political success begins with an attitude of discovery. This series is merely a learning launch pad to help you get started on the journey.
